NBA Pre-Draft Party @ Deep; June 27, 2005
Promoters: The JV Group and Chuck Bone
It is often said that fashion and music go hand in hand. However, at the 2005 NBA Draft Party hosted at Club Deep on Monday night, fashion paired up with sports and the end result was phenomenal. New York’s fashion forward and some of the biggest names in the NBA came out to mingle and party until the wee hours of the morning. The club was filled with people from both the East and West coast, however DJ S&S paid homage to the East Coast spinning hits by Jay-Z, Fat Joe and 50 Cent. Even the most fashion forward people were on the dance floor doing their thing. And, if the music wasn’t enough to keep you on the dance floor, you could sit back and mingle with Dwayne Wade and Udonis Haslem from the Miami Heat, boxer Zab Judah, TNT Basketball Analyst Kenny Smith, Brian Scalabrine from the NJ Nets, and soon-to-be NBA draftees Sean May, Chris Paul, Andrew Bogut and Rashad McCants just to name a few. While taking a much needed break from what in my opinion was the party of the year, I spotted Cheryl.

Cheryl, a professional model, was a vision to behold in a quintessential white summer dress. Once I began speaking to Cheryl, we discussed her style, inspiration and what she felt was the key to creating a one-of-a-kind look. Tonight, Cheryl is wearing a white cotton dress from Zara, paired with a white hand bag by H&M with shoes and accessories from various stores in the village. Her look is classic, pretty and simply breathtaking.

Cheryl, who draws her inspiration from a number of places, feels that no matter what inspires you, adding your own personal touch will allow you to stand out and be noticed. A classic fashionista, she is inspired by runway shows, fashion magazines and urban culture. She expressed that the key to looking fashionable is being able to pair high end pieces with low end items. As a fashion leader, she loves to create unique looks that allow her personality and personal style to be displayed. Cheryl’s philosophy is to buy timeless, high end key pieces that enhance your body while expressing your mood. However, when it comes to buying trendy items, look for low end pieces that look good and work well with the key pieces you already own. These guidelines will keep you looking your very best and allow you to save money for the high end must have items of the season.

Cheryl finds her partying attire at a number of stores around the City. She likes H&M for their tops, but adores Zara for their one-of-a-kind dresses. She buys all of her shoes and accessories in the Village (Greenwich - downtown NYC) and is always in search of new stores with distinctive and exceptional pieces.

Mixing and matching your wardrobe will allow you more room to try new things. Pair your favorite Marc Jacob summer dress with a pair of gold sling backs from Target. This concept will allow you to buy more of the items you can’t live without while allowing you to play with some of the top trends for the summer. Cheryl has already mastered this concept and is ready for her close-up.

AllTheParties will be highlighting another fashion forward fashionista soon at another undisclosed venue. Therefore, to all my fashionistas out there, keep looking fabulous because you never know when I may be approaching you!

Ciao Bella,
N. A. Andrews
