Trey Day....Finally

I guess it was just Trey Songz' day, or night in this instance.  Despite a few other events occurring last night, Trey Songz series of Album Release Parties seem to have won over the party goers.  After showcasing his talent at the latest of edition of the Industry Tuesday feature at Spotlight Live, he made his way over to Duvet to party with loyal fans.

Indian Summer Thurdsay on The Town, Duvet & Avalon

I got the writing bug again.  Plus I had to wait till we had our brand spanking new home page to start writing again.  I'll try to give it a whirl again, just keeping up on a daily basis is tough.  Let's go....

Kept it pretty light for Thurs. night is not too crazy to begin with.  I started to go to party at The Plumm hosted by rapper turned actor Ice-T and his voluptuous wife, Coco, but I got a late start so I skipped it.

Patience Proving to Be A Virtue

Just got in from Myst and while there, I had a brief conversation with the 'quarterback promoter', as I'll refer to him, Easy from Easy Money Ent.  In not so many words, he boasted, and I complimented his body of work as the we observed the party.

DJ Will's "Boom Boom Room"

Checked out DJ Will's B-day Bash.  I was quite impressed once I found out the venue Level V, for it has been untouched by the urban community.  I was also impressed beyond expectation the way the event turned out.

The Week of Ne-Yo and The Police State

It has been some time, but the kid has popped back in for a State of the Union address...When the next one will be, I don't know....I'm no longer making promises I can't keep.  You'll get it when you get it.  Let's go:

A Truely Sexy Party and A State of Emergency

It’s been ages folks, I know. I don’t need to be reminded. There’s a ton of things I wanted to write about, but just didn’t get a chance to do so. These articles are quite time consuming and I just don’t have the time to do it. If you see my last article around Labor Day, (see Where Should I Go This Weekend) I didn’t get a chance to put all the links to names, places etc. within the article. After a few weeks go by, there’s so much to write about, I don’t look forward to doing it anymore. So with this said, my resolution will be to write more frequently but very shorter entries.

Labor Day & Summer Wrap Up: Where Should I Go This Weekend?

I really don’t write enough. I always seem to start my pieces with why I haven’t written in so long. It seems as if I write a piece, then disappear off the face of the Earth. Well, I’ve haven’t gone anywhere, but I just haven’t been inspired to write as of late. I guess that’s because I haven’t been too excited about most of the parties as of late. Could it be fatigue or burn-out? I think not, I’m not that old. (At least I don’t think). But don’t get me wrong, there have been some solid parties and interesting events to say the least since we last spoke. I’ll see if I can give you some highlights (and maybe some lowlights as well).

The White Wash on the West Side and The Crime Scene at BLVD

I’m glad to see that folks are looking forward to my entries. If you haven’t heard anything from me in a minute, I’ll get a few reminders from folks on email and in the streets asking what’s up with the articles. But there seem to be a 1001 things to do in a day and never enough time. It’s been about 3 weeks or so since my last entry and there have a few events in clubland worth mentioning. Since it’s been so long since I written about my journeys, instead of giving you a chronological account of where I’ve been, I’ll just mention about a few highlights that come to mind as I type away.

4th of July Wrap-Up: Sex in the Champange Room?

Happy belated 4th everyone! And indeed it was a happy 4th weekend for many us in club land. These 3 day weekends give clubs the opportunity to have an additional day of partying. Ah, those one-off Sunday holiday parties tend to ones to remember and this weekend was no exception. Let’s recap the weekend and talk about the big winners:

R&B Chicks and NBA Draft Parties: Rites of Passage for New Money

You fall back for a week and you miss what feels like a year of events. Well, not really but it’s just a reminder to let you know how much goes on in this city. I missed a few events: the brawls at Duvet on Loon’s birthday, the two-year anniversary at 40/40, the tons of T&A running around at Gallery last Wednesday otherwise known as John Blassingame’s (founder of Black Men’s Magazine) birthday party. But I got back on track so let’s talk about where I did go.
