Under the Tents at Fashion Week: Spring 2006

Fashion Week in New York City always has something exciting to offer. Even with the long lines, shows not starting on time and people always sitting in the wrong seat, it’s something that no fashionista should miss! Unfortunately, we all can’t attend thus I thought it would be best to give you an overview of what Spring 2006 has to offer. This season will allow you lots of room for interruption, therefore the rules are simple: find styles that work for you and add key items from last spring. Think outside the box and enjoy reading the best of Spring 2006.

Fashionista of The Week - Tashara Jones

If you were not at BLVD on Friday night, you were at the wrong club! The beautiful and trendy people of New York City were dancing and having a great time as DJ Goldfinger mixed hip-pop, R&B and reggae that had the whole club jumping. However, if you thought you heard it all, you could head downstairs and hear battle rapper Jae Mills spit a few bars from his upcoming album “Back to the Future”. The crowd was definitely enjoying Mills; everyone was nodding their heads and tapping their feet to his hot beats and catchy lyrics. Even though the club was packed, it didn’t take me long to spot my Fashionista of the Week, Tashara Jones.

NBA Pre-Draft Party @ Deep; June 27, 2005

It is often said that fashion and music go hand in hand. However, at the 2005 NBA Draft Party hosted at Club Deep on Monday night, fashion paired up with sports and the end result was phenomenal. New York’s fashion forward and some of the biggest names in the NBA came out to mingle and party until the wee hours of the morning. The club was filled with people from both the East and West coast, however DJ S&S paid homage to the East Coast spinning hits by Jay-Z, Fat Joe and 50 Cent. Even the most fashion forward people were on the dance floor doing their thing. And, if the music wasn’t enough to keep you on the dance floor, you could sit back and mingle with Dwayne Wade and Udonis Haslem from the Miami Heat, boxer Zab Judah, TNT Basketball Analyst Kenny Smith, Brian Scalabrine from the NJ Nets, and soon-to-be NBA draftees Sean May, Chris Paul, Andrew Bogut and Rashad McCants just to name a few. While taking a much needed break from what in my opinion was the party of the year, I spotted Cheryl.

Fashion Round Up - What to Wear Out

What do you get when you mix one top model, a cool venue and great music? One of the hottest parties of the summer! Coral Room was the place to be Friday night. Eva, last year’s winner of America’s Next Top Model and host for the evening was looking fabulous. However, Coral Room understands that it takes more than good looking people to make your party a hit. Therefore, they featured hot go-go dancers, a live mermaid and DJ Bobby Trends spinning hip-pop, R&B and old school which kept everyone on the dance floor for the whole night.

New Jack City Fridays @ Strata; June 10, 2005

Strata was hot, hot, hot! Packed with beautiful and trendy people, this was the place to be Friday night. The mood was right, the people were hot, and DJ Scratch had the whole place on fire! He mixed old school, hip pop and R&B along with some of the hottest dance songs of the summer. From the moment I entered the club, I was on the dance floor doing my thing. However, it wasn’t long before I spotted Stephanie in the crowd. Strata wasn’t the only thing on fire on this particular night, Stephanie Mills was creating a fire of her own.
